An Interview with Jesse Krebs of Outlaw Nutrition: Wrestling to Entrepreneurship
Option Army: Let's kick this off! Can you tell us your name and more about your business?
Jesse Krebs (Outlaw Nutrition): Sure! My name is Jesse Krebs, and I own Outlaw Nutrition. We specialize in flax-based supplements for animals. Our main product is for equine, which is where we started. Over time, we’ve expanded to include supplements for livestock like cattle, sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas, and even a dog version. Interestingly, the dog version isn’t exclusively for dogs—many of our customers use it for cats, show bunnies, and even foxes at a zoo in Minnesota to improve their coat quality. I started this business in 2018 after working in the brokerage industry for nearly 10 years. I originally sourced bulk ingredients for the feed world. After a falling out with my previous company, I focused more on supplements and by June last year, decided to dedicate myself fully to Outlaw Nutrition. It's been more rewarding, both financially and personally, with better margins and customer satisfaction.
Option Army: Clearly, you're an animal lover! How many animals do you have?
Jesse (Outlaw Nutrition): I get asked that a lot! I only have one dog right now. I don't have horses, although I would love to—but I just travel so much. But I do have a dog.
Option Army: What kind of dog do you have? I’m definitely going to need to see pictures!
Jesse (Outlaw Nutrition): Her name is Maude, and she's a large Munsterlander. She’s not that large, only about 40 to 45 pounds. She’s about 12 or 13 years old and a real sweetheart. But, like any dog, she can be a pain in the butt sometimes! She’s also been my guinea pig for our dog supplements.
Option Army: You're brave! Haha, that’s awesome.
Jesse (Outlaw Nutrition): Yeah, she’s not even technically mine—she came with my girlfriend! But she's great. If anyone wants to look up large Munsterlanders, they’re driven hunting dogs.
Maude!
Option Army: So, how did you get into this? Did you grow up in Minnesota and have farming experience?
Jesse (Outlaw Nutrition): I’m originally from North Dakota. My grandpa had a small farm where he grew wheat, barley, and some other small grains, but by the time I was older, he was done farming. I moved to the Minneapolis area for college, where I was recruited to wrestle at the University of Minnesota. After school, I worked in a job I didn’t enjoy. A friend of mine was in the commodity world, and he offered me a job brokering feed ingredients. That’s how I got into the feed world. A few years later, I started the supplement business after realizing the benefits of flax for animals and learning more about it from a mill in North Dakota. I began selling flax products to horse farms, and the business grew from there. The success of our product, especially the impact it had on the animals' coats, is something I’m really proud of.
Option Army: You should be! Why did you begin with supplements specifically for horses?
The equine market seemed like the natural starting point for me, especially considering that people who own horses are always looking for ways to keep them looking great—shiny and healthy. There are also numerous other benefits to using the product I was focused on. On a personal level, my grandfather had horses when I was a kid, and I remember riding them when we'd visit him.
Over time, though, I've met a lot of incredible people and had some great conversations in the equine world. Just last week, for instance, I was in Ocala, Florida, where they held a major sale for two-year-old thoroughbreds. At the sale, there were some well-known figures like Bob Baffert, who trained Triple Crown winners like Justify and American Pharoah. I had the chance to meet some amazing people involved in thoroughbred aftercare, helping horses transition after their racing careers end. It’s been such a rewarding experience, and I’ve had the privilege of seeing some truly beautiful animals along the way.
Option Army: That’s a great story! What drew you to entrepreneurship and options trading?
Jesse (Outlaw Nutrition): I’ve always been interested in entrepreneurship. My dad ran his own business, and I guess I inherited that entrepreneurial spirit from him. As for options, I’ve always liked numbers and math, and trading seemed like a natural fit. I started dabbling in it for side money. I initially connected with Brian on Twitter a few years ago. He actually reached out to me first, and offered to help. So naturally, I was very intrigued when I heard about his vision for The Option Army. I wanted to support him and build upon my experience in options trading while supplementing my own business.
Option Army: That’s awesome! It sounds like you’ve found value in both The Option Army community and in supporting Brian.
Jesse (Outlaw Nutrition): Absolutely. What sets Brian apart is his humility and his genuine desire to help others. I've seen this firsthand, and I think he really stands out because of it. A lot of times, people will post on Twitter or elsewhere, saying something like, "If you're so good at what you're doing, why would you be giving away advice or selling your services? Why wouldn't you just make a million dollars and retire?"
But with Brian, it's different. He cares so much, maybe even to a fault. He truly wants the people in his community to succeed. He wants them to learn and grow, and that’s a big part of why he does what he does. He’s different from others, and that's why I appreciate what he's doing. It’s been an enjoyable experience for me, even though I don’t have a farm—I’m just here to make a little money and learn. I’m a spec guy, but The Option Army community is amazing.
Option Army: Haha, I’m glad to hear that! What are you most proud of in your business?
Jesse (Outlaw Nutrition): I’m really proud of the way I take a more personal approach with my customers. Whether someone buys one bag or several, I always make it a point to tell them that if they have any questions or issues, they should feel free to reach out. I encourage them to call, text, or email me. I ask them to send before-and-after pictures and keep me updated on how things are going. I want to know how the product is working for them, and I take pride in offering that personal touch. It's not just a financial transaction for me—it's about building a relationship with my customers.
Another rewarding aspect is when you have customers whose animals weren’t looking their best, and they're trying to improve their appearance, and your product can make a real difference. It's amazing when they call you and can't believe the transformation. They’re so excited about how much better their animals look, and some even tell me that they get compliments on their horses all the time now. It’s really fulfilling to know that your product is making such a positive impact.
Option Army: Do you sell your products in retail stores?
Jesse (Outlaw Nutrition): I have a few dealers in Minnesota, and I’m expanding into other areas like Florida and North Texas. We don’t sell in big-box stores, but everything is available on our website. We ship directly to customers and can handle any volume.
Option Army: Where do you see the business going in the next 10 years?
Jesse (Outlaw Nutrition): I may not be as young as I once was, but I truly enjoy what I do. I love working and interacting with the people I meet along the way. Do I want to retire someday? Sure, I’m not saying I wouldn't, but I genuinely enjoy my work. In the next 10 years, I hope the business has grown substantially.
I have a 19-year-old son who’s currently in college, and while he hasn’t shown much interest in joining the business yet, if that changes as he gets older, I’d love to have him involved. If he wants to eventually take over, that would be great. But if not, I'm open to whatever opportunities come my way. If someone came along with 10 million dollars and wanted the business, I wouldn't say no.
As for my son, he's currently studying accounting, so who knows what the future holds. Either way, my goal is to continue growing the business and helping people as much as I can.
Option Army: That’s great! And vice versa, we want to help you help more people. The Option Army is a smart and diverse group, so I am sure you’d have plenty of people who could help with various aspects of your business if needed to help it grow and succeed. So much great community discussions on the DIscord.
Jesse (Outlaw Nutrition): Exactly! A big challenge for me as a business owner has been asking for help, which can be tough, especially coming from a wrestling background where it’s very individual. It’s a process for me to open up and ask for support.
Option Army: Tell us about any upcoming events that you will be at. Maybe some more TOA people will be there!
Jesse (Outlaw Nutrition): March and April are busy with equine expos and trade shows. In March, I was at the Road To The Horse. And soon I’ll be at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, which is a big deal for people coming from all over the world to compete. In April, I’ll also be at the Midwest Horse Fair in Madison and the Minnesota Horse Expo. I travel around to different shows in the summer, depending on what’s going on. I list these on our website and social media, so definitely check it out or just call me, email me, text me. Would love to meet people if they are in the area.
Option Army: I think there’s big potential for in-person meet ups with the TOA family. It’s a really fun group, and a lot of people indicated on our last survey that they would be down for Chicago, Des Moines, and Minneapolis. So I’m working on planning a Chicago meetup at the end of April. My brother lives there, so it’s a great chance for me to meet people, but also see my cute niece and nephew!
Jesse (Outlaw Nutrition): I’ve been telling Brian for a while that there should be meet ups. It would be great to meet everyone face-to-face and build those connections. I'd definitely make a special trip to Chicago if it fits into my schedule.
Option Army: I agree. I’m going to make it happen. Thank you for supporting my plan to host more events! Alright, one last thing—are you doing the March Madness bracket pool with us?
Jesse (Outlaw Nutrition): Honestly, I’m not a fan of March Madness.
Option Army: Haha, fair enough. What’s your favorite sport to follow?
Jesse (Outlaw Nutrition): Definitely wrestling. I also watch baseball since my son plays college baseball at UW River Falls. I’m a Twins fan, but they sure know how to break your heart! I also enjoy going to hockey games.

Option Army: It’s been a great chat, Jesse. I really appreciate you taking the time. Do you have any advice for our Bunker subscribers and the TOA community, in general?
Jesse (Outlaw Nutrition): It’s simple: keep doing the right thing. Whether it’s business, farming, or life, doing the right thing will pay off. I always tell my son to work harder than the next guy. If you don’t, nothing happens. If you do, at least you give yourself a chance to succeed.
Option Army: That's fantastic advice. Thanks so much for taking the time to chat. Good luck with everything, and I look forward to sharing this with the community!
Jesse (Outlaw Nutrition): Thanks! Keep me posted on the events. I’d love to be part of them if I can.
Option Army: Absolutely! Safe travels, and good luck with all your upcoming events!
