The Option Army: A Farmer-Focused Community
The Option Army (TOA) was founded in 2023 by Brian Wilson, a seasoned trader with 30 years of experience, who saw a clear and pressing issue: farmers lacked the tools and support they needed to navigate the complexities of options trading and effectively manage the risks tied to their operations. After years of careful thought, Brian decided it was time to take action, creating a community dedicated to helping farmers, brokers, and analysts master the art of options trading.
At The Option Army, we prioritize the needs of farmers first. We're a welcoming, growing community committed to making options trading more accessible and less complicated. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced trader, we offer expert resources, comprehensive education, and real, hands-on support to help you achieve your long-term trading goals.
About Brian
Brian Wilson has dedicated his career to mastering the complexities of options trading, with a particular focus on soybean options. From 1990 to 2012, he was a member and market maker at the Chicago Board of Trade, where he also served as Co-Chairman of the Soybean Pit Committee from 1995 to 2008.
In 2013, Brian transitioned to independent screen trading while also providing consulting services to major hedge funds in New York, London, and Pennsylvania. With decades of hands-on experience, he recognized the importance of passing on his knowledge to the next generation of traders. This led him to create a class aimed at high school and college students, many of whom have gone on to launch successful trading careers.
His passion for education expanded further when he built a social media following on X/Twitter, sharing valuable insights, analysis, and strategies. Over time, Brian realized that many of his followers were farmers eager to learn about options and technical analysis, which sparked the creation of The Option Army. His goal with TOA is to make his expertise accessible to anyone interested in learning the craft of options trading.
An active alumnus of the University of Wisconsin, Brian now lives in the Chicago suburbs where he also coaches the National Swim Team at Westmont, IL. Outside of his professional life, he is preparing to compete in the 2025 Canadian Masters Swimming Nationals, training alongside his younger sister, a Para-Swimmer. Together, they are raising funds for Parkinson's Research and Awareness.
