Why Options are Like 6 AM Swim Practice
Prediction markets have taken off over the last year...
People are putting real money on everything from weather to elections, in real time. Prediction markets are different from what we do here, but the same appetite is underneath. We have access to so much information, all the time. So the issue isn't information. It's how we're learning it. And honestly, it's just nice to have someone in the room with you when you're going through it.
Training before trading.
That's the whole idea behind The Bunker. We get together every weekday morning, before the market opens. Training before trading, literally. Not a podcast, not a one-time class — a group of people who show up and put in the reps, whether the market's boring or on fire.
In the trenches with you.
Nobody gets good at anything from being told once. You get good from showing up, again and again, with somebody invested in you getting better. That's why I was a volunteer swim coach for so many years. It's where my @Badgerswimr Twitter handle comes from.
It's why our Beginner Course isn't just a slide deck. A deck means you're on your own, here's the information, good luck. So instead, we'll go through it together over two one-hour sessions in August. A brand-new 50-slide deck geared toward beginners, farmers, and traders. Come and ask questions. Get them answered live. And an added bonus of joining in real time? The training becomes teamwork. You won't get that from a 15-second reel or a 10-word tweet.
Basic training isn't just for beginners, and we didn't call this The Option Army by accident. My hope is that by the end of these sessions with me, you'll actually understand why our Option Ranges website is so important. And if you do, it means I've done my job as a coach — prepared you for the next course.
That's why I treat options like a 6 AM swim practice. Training before trading. With my team. That's the whole idea.
